Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) , the person will be responsible for the following:
Duties and Responsibilities


  • Provision of efficient Board secretariat services to ensure compliance.
  • Preparing for Board and Committees Meetings in a timely manner and follow up all the matters arising from Board meetings in order to ensure effective implementation of Board decisions.
  • With the guidance of the CEO the Legal Officer will be responsible for the management of the Board database and ensure timely uploading and updating of the materials in the system and ensure that all Board Members are equipped with the necessary skills and tools to use the system.
  • Prepare the annual Board calendar and work plan and maintain Board details and attendance registers.
  • Dealing with correspondence, collating information and writing reports, ensuring decisions made are communicated to the relevant knls stakeholders.
  • Custodian of good corporate governance practices, Board Charter, Board stewardship & accountability, Fiduciary duties of Directors, Board manual, code of conduct, conflict of interest and maintenance and custody of Company Seal.
  • Providing advice on training for the Board on good corporate governance and fiduciary duties of Board Members.
  • Preparation of contracts, legal documents and memorandum of understanding
  • Liaising with external Lawyers on Court Cases and offering guidance notes and evidence to support court proceedings.
  • Conducting legal research and rendering advice to the Board. Key Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
  • At least six(6) years work experience and four (4) years in Company Secretariat work in a large and busy organization.
  • Must be a holder of CPS (K).
  • Member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretary.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Governance.
  • Strong analytical and organization skills.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

    Kenya Ports Authority was established by an Act of Parliament on 20th January, 1978 with the mandate to maintain, improve and regulate all scheduled sea ports along Kenya’s Coast.     A. Assistant Estate & Rating Officer
    Grade: HM4

    Reporting to the Senior Estate and Rating Officer, the holder will be responsible for ensuring optimum use of Authority’s land and property leased to others; ensuring that the Authority leasing or purchasing of land and property from others is effectively and efficiently managed to the Authority’s best advantage.
    Duties and Responsibilities


  • Assisting in the maintenance of accurate survey plans, registers and records of all land and property and registration thereof.
  • Assisting in the valuation of property or land for lease to others or for lease by the Authority.
  • Assisting in the valuation of property or land for purchase by the Authority from the others.
  • Taking vacant possession of properties leased by the Authority and to give vacant possession of KPA properties leased to others.
  • Assisting in negotiating on behalf of the Leasing Committee, renewals of leases for properties leased by the Authority and for KPA properties leased to others.
  • Carrying out valuation of houses acquired by KPA staff through house-ownership scheme.
  • Assisting in verifying land rent and rates that are assessed and demanded by
  • Government and Local Authorities by; inspection of Valuation Rolls, lodging of objections and presentation of Authority’s interests before Commissioner of Lands and Valuation Courts.
  • Collecting and maintaining data on property values and rents, expenditure, costs and expenditures and formulate opinions of value.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Land Economics, B.Sc. Surveying or any other relevant field from a recognized institution

    A. Nursing Officer

    Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the job holder will be responsible for providing comprehensive quality nursing care to patients.
    Duties and Responsibilities
  • Providing nursing care to patients and Maternal Child Health and Family Planning (MCH/FP) services.
  • Offering broad counselling services to both employees and their families.
  • Maintaining accurate records of drugs and medical supplies placed under his/her custody and keeping nursing supplies inventory.
  • Preparing relevant reports as required and within the set deadlines.
  • Participating in home based care and palliative care to improve quality of life of convalescents and terminally ill patients respectively.
  • Giving nutritional and other forms of health education to patients/Clients. Job Specifications
  • Diploma in Community Health Nursing from the Kenya Medical Training College or a recognized Medical Training Institution.
  • Registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya with valid current practising license.
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in a busy Health Institution/ Hospital.

    Reporting to the Chief Pharmacist, the job holder will be responsible for the provision of quality pharmaceutical care and services in the Authority. Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Monitoring drug usage and advising the pharmacist accordingly.
  • Supervising and coordinating pharmaceutical services to ensure quality services are offered.
  • Coordinating patient flow at the pharmacy and ensuring high standards of cleanliness in the pharmacy section.
  • Assisting in carrying out audit surveys on the quality of pharmaceutical care to ensure they are as per the World Health Organization guidelines.
  • Assisting in the study of disease patterns over time using prescriptions and generating appropriate reports.
  • Maintaining records on all issues arising from dispensing errors, drug abuse and patients complaints on medication.
  • Maintaining records on all drug allergies, adverse drug reaction, counterfeit and sub- standard products.
  • Keeping records of stock items and posting of prescriptions.
  • Monitoring expiry and storage conditions of drugs, both in the drugs stores and pharmacies.

    Reporting to the Senior Pharmaceutical Technologist, the job holder is responsible for the provision of quality pharmaceutical care in the Authority.
    Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinating pharmaceutical services to ensure quality services are offered.
  • Dispensing drugs to patients and counselling patients on their medication.
  • Maintaining registers for usage of antiviral drugs, opportunistic infections and anti-malarial drugs.
  • Compiling daily reports for National Programs on drugs.
  • Keeping records of stock items and posting of prescriptions.
  • Monitoring storage conditions and expiry of drugs. Requirements for the Post
  • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from Kenya Medical Training College or any other institution approved by the Ministry of Health.

    Job Title: Education & Social Work Facilitator
    Reports to: Program Manager / CEO
    Project Location: Gem Central Location - Rangwe Division, Homabay County.
    Purpose of the Role:
    To assist with planning, developing and execution of education and social programs using integrated community development initiatives within the community.
    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


  • Prepare and sublimit weekly work plan, monthly and annual budgets on activities and determine allocation of funds for all sponsored students.
  • Maintain inventory of school needs of each student; purchase and distribute at appropriate times.
  • Work closely with FoR learning institutions by conducting school community consultative meetings to help improve the standards of education and its programs within these institutions.
  • Organize joint activities, holidays, excursions and educational visits etc for all sponsored students alongside holiday tuition.
  • Develop sponsorship correspondence forms and information sheets for Board, donor & stakeholders interaction.
  • Follow upon sponsored students and partner community schools, which includes attending all education related meetings on behalf of the organization, also liaise with the Program Manager to send school circulars and student reports to Sponsors/donors
  • Submit monthly reports and weekly work plans on the department’s activities.
  • Submit both academic and social reports, provide recommendations on the welfare of students including; Academic performance, Health, Development & Upbringing.
  • Maintaining a family profile for each child, he/she will be responsible for looking at alternatives on how the children in their case studies can be reintegrated back to their families.
  • Come up with a student exit strategy and Implement the same.
  • Make regular visits to the Schools and report on progress of each student.
  • Offer counseling service to students facing social and academic difficulties.
  • Assist in conducting, in servicing; capacity building and professional development of teaching staff and social groups in the community.
  • Identify the need for and assist in the preparation of fundraising proposals for education ad social work-based projects including infrastructure.
  • Assisting in project implementation, developing initiatives under the ongoing projects.
  • This will entail relating with local community structures, CBO’s, local government officials, and international/local organizations within the community.

    1. Internal Auditor
    The successful candidate will be reporting to the Manager, Internal Audit
    Purpose of the Job (Job Summary)
    The position is responsible for the implementation of the annual risk based audit plans as approved by the Board Audit Committee through execution of operational, compliance, systems, performance and value for money audit.
    Principal Responsibilities
    a) Implementation of Internal Controls


  • Plan and conduct risk based internal audits including operational, compliance, system and value for money audits in line with Authority’s Annual Audit Plan as approved by the Board Audit Committee.
  • Conduct discussions with Senior Management on key audit issues and recommendations through exit meetings at the end of the audit assignments.
  • Participate in the annual audit risk profiling and updating of the Authority’s risk register.

  • Oversee investigation into restrictive trade practices (agreements / concerted practices and abuse of dominance)

    Position Information:
    WelTel is looking for a skilled, solutions oriented, and highly organized individual to fill the program coordinator position for our Kenyan operations.
    Based in Isiolo or Nanyuki, Kenya, this position will require the coordination and implementation of WelTel’s service delivery model and SMS platform at various clinical sites throughout Kenya, with particular attention to the Northern and Arid Lands.
    Reporting to the Executive Director, you will be responsible for leading and managing the financial, logistical, human resource, and partner engagement aspects of WelTel.

    Main Duties / Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate WelTel’s implementation team for scale up of WelTel’s mHealth service and research activities alongside partners.

    1. Macroeconomics and Public Finance Senior Analyst The successful candidate will be in charge of the macroeconomics and public finance division, which covers policy analysis and econometrics / modeling sections.
    The Senior Analyst will monitor developments at the macro economy and their impact on CRA’s constitutional mandate.
    She/he is also expected to work with other institutions dealing with macroeconomic management, develop a suite of models for policy simulation and forecasting, and conduct research on thematic areas.

  • The governments of Kenya through the Ministry of Health (Programme Executing Agency – PEA) and Federal Republic of Germany through KfWEntwicklungsbank have jointly been supporting the Reproductive Health – Output Based Approach (RH-OBA) Programme since 2005 to date.
  • The main objective of the project is to improve equitable access of the economically and socially disadvantaged members of the community to financially feasible and accessible health care particularly in the field of sexual and reproductive health.
  • The programme currently operates at five counties of Kiambu, Kitui, Kisumu, Kilifi and unplanned settlements of Korogocho and Viwandani in Nairobi and will be extended to four additional counties (Busia, Kakamega, Makueni and Uasin Gishu).
  • The programme is currently on its third phase of implementation with Phase I running from 2005-2008, Phase II from 2008-2011 and Phase III running from 2011-2014.
  • The third phase of implementation is expected to be extended for 24 months and an additional option of one year.
  • The Programme Executing Agency intends to engage a voucher management agency (VMA) to provide various services within the programme for the extension period of the third phase.
  • These services include, but are not limited to production, marketing and distribution of OBA Voucher / Health Card, recruitment and management of voucher/health card distributors, claims processing and payments and, service quality monitoring on behalf of the Programme Executing Agency.
  • The VMA is required to carry out this assignment with close collaboration with the PEA and other implementing agencies. The successful VMA will this;
    a. In constant consultation with the PEA, develop and implement the appropriate institutional structure, processes and capacities (systems) to manage assigned aspects of the voucher distribution, marketing and claims settlement.
    b. Develop and implement a voucher marketing and distribution strategy which is efficient and effective in reaching the target population
    c. On the recommendation of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation agency, contract and manage a network of health services providers that ensures easy access by the voucher clients for voucher services and from public, private and not-for-profit sectors
    d. Conduct training of all facilities that are designated to join the programme, and carry out refresher training for existing facilities in the areas of claims generation and use of integrated claims processing system
    Apart from having the necessary technical capacity to carry out this assignment, the agency to be recruited is anticipated to have strong local presence and ability to closely interact with Kenya health systems at all levels.
    Capability to mobilize essential technical personnel and financial resources is deemed important for this assignment.
