Organizational Setting and Reporting
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. UNEP's Division of Early Warning and Assessment (DEWA) is responsible for analyzing the state of the global environment, providing early warning information and assessing global and regional environmental trends to catalyze and promote international cooperation and action on the environment. This position is located in the Country Outreach, Technology and Innovation Branch (COTI), under the direct supervision of the Programme Officer.
Responsibilities
To assist with integration of environmental information assets held by the UN, Member States and scientific and technical partners worldwide through UNEP Live
- Independently provides full range of programme/project management and implementation assistance at all phases of the programme/project cycle.
- Researches, compiles, analyses, summarizes, and presents basic information/data on wide range of programmes/projects and related topics.
- Tracks resolutions and other legislative decisions that affect programme/project content and oversees the preparation of the relevant database(s).
- Reviews, appraises and revises, as necessary, all submissions for substantive programmes/projects.
- Works with funding agencies in arranging financing modalities; obtains requisite clearances; ensures establishment of proper monitoring systems through scheduled reporting, review meetings and missions.
- Drafts budget and forecast based on submissions; prepares monitoring checklists, identifying stages of programme/project development, funding source, inputs by reviewing internal and external bodies, and follow-up actions required.
- Monitors budgetary commitments, prepares periodic budget revisions, reconciles accounts with amended budget; evaluates trends of financial implementation.
- Prepares briefings on programme/project-related activities; drafts inputs for a wide range of documents/reports, briefings/debriefings, correspondence, etc.
- Serves as focal point for coordination, monitoring and expedition of implementation activities and participates in programme/project evaluation; monitor implementation at all stages; liaises with diverse organizational units to initiate requests; prepares standard terms of reference against programme/project objectives, obtains necessary clearances, processes and follows-up on administrative actions and resolves issues related to project implementation.
- Arranges for formal closures of projects, final budget revision, transfer of equipment, clearance, publication and distribution of final report.
- Provides secretariat services to committees, ad hoc tasks forces, etc.; drafts and circulates agenda notes to members/participants; assembles background documentation; drafts minutes of the meeting; monitors follow-up actions, etc.
- May undertake mission/field work in support of above activities.
- Establishes internal databases; sets up, files, stores and manages data and information relevant to the scope of programme/project activities.
- Supervises office support staff, including distribution and review of work assignments, training, and inputs to performance evaluation.

Languages
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.

II. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE
Under the overall supervision of the Regional Health Assessments Coordinator for Sub- Saharan Africa and the direct supervision of the Head of Data Processing and Mobile Unit, the incumbent will gather data, encode, maintain, update required information accurately in the MHD Databases, as well as generating reports and coordinating processes and procedures with relevant units within and outside MRF Nairobi. In particular, he/she will carry out the following essential duties

- Print DS forms from either hard copies or on PDF for transmission for new approvals and re-medicals.
- Assist in data entry of DS forms including to MiMOSA when required.
- Data reconciliation, data quality control and timely reporting including CDC TB indicators for the TB Treatment Module.
- Encoding of data and information, update the PDMS database, and generate regular and ad-hoc reports
- Maintain and update the Incidents and Events Databases.
- Coordinate with responsible colleague the timely updating of the quality control of all X-ray re-reading reports in databases and generate monthly reports.
- Update MiMOSA for 'mailout' of cleared DS forms that are returned to RSC and generate the related list
- To verify data entry of Canadian, Australian in eMedical and in MIMOSA.
- To enter data from all other resettlement countries including UK gateway and other resettlement countries in MIMOSA.

IFAD Internship Programme
IFAD Internship Programme
Introduction
The Internship Programme aims at promoting amongst the participants a better understanding of the United Nations and IFAD. The programme is meant for recent university graduates or students who specialise in fields of work relevant to IFAD’s mandate. Interns are fully involved in the work programme of the Division that has selected them to carry out assignments relevant to their studies under the supervision of an IFAD staff member.
Eligibility
IFAD maintains a roster of potential candidates. If applicants meet the following criteria, their curriculum vitae will be added to the internship roster and kept for one year as qualified candidates:
- Be currently enrolled in a university or graduate school and have attended courses in the last 12 months; or
- Have recently completed their university studies at the undergraduate or postgraduate level;
- Be fluent in English. Fluency in other IFAD official and working languages is an asset;
- Be of an IFAD member state
- Be 30 years old or less.
Applications
Applicants must fill in an electronic IFAD Personal History Formspecifying the expected month/year of graduation and submit it tointernship@ifad.org.
Applications will be screened by the Human Resources division. Interns will be selected for positions as and when needed by hiring managers at IFAD. Candidates will be contacted by interested IFAD divisions.
Terms of employment
Interns will be paid the equivalent of an all-inclusive lumpsum amount of USD600 per month, less any payment received from a sponsor (if any). The payment will be pro-rated for periods of less than one month on the basis of 30 days per month.
Interns are not considered as agents or members of IFAD staff. They cannot represent IFAD in any commitment, accrue benefits or be entitled for employment. They may however apply to IFAD’s vacancies after their internship if they feel suited.
IFAD will be responsible for the third party insurance coverage while on the HQ premises and when travelling with an IFAD Travel Authorization.
Interns must carry their own medical insurance coveragevalid worldwide, that covers for the cost of urgent medical care up to 30.000 EUR (per year) in line with the Schengen permit of stay requirement.
Internship assignments will be limited to a maximum period of six months with no possibility of extension under any other contractual type.
Close family members, other than a recognized spouse or domestic or common-law partner shall not be considered for employment by IFAD and will not be considered eligible for this Programme.
Interns will be required to sign a statement governing the IFAD Internship Programme at to the commencement of their internships.

General Information
It has been over thirteen years since the first internship at the KHRC took place. The Internship programme first carried in 1992 has been a resounding success as attested by the end internship reports submitted by the different National and International Interns that have participated in the Programme. The aim of the internship programme is to contribute to the training of young human rights workers. The programme intends to:
The relationship between the organization and the intern is one of mutual benefit. Interns are assigned to a project according programme needs and their own areas of interest. They are involved, inter alia in; researching human rights issues, drafting analytical papers and reports, providing substantive and technical servicing of meetings, back-stopping fact-finding missions as well as field operations and supporting other KHRC activities depending on programme needs. As part of the internship programme, the KHRC endeavors to brief interns through a series of information sessions on human rights issues conducted by staff of the office.
Purpose of Internship
Each year, we host interns drawn from our six partner communities, universities and other tertiary institutions in Kenya as well as other countries. The interns are generally young people who are still in college or have recently graduated and have the keen interest to learn more about human rights and acquire a practical experience.
The internship programme enables aspiring human rights activists to master the dynamics in human rights work and acquire relevant experience in the various programs at the Commission - fact-finding, documentation and reporting, human rights education and advocacy. This equips them with adequate knowledge to address human rights concerns and violations in the country. Internship recruitment is on a bi-annual basis. The KHRC also welcomes international interns to work during the summer, usually between May – August. Guiding Principles

WHO offers 6 weeks internships with a wide range of opportunities for students to gain insight in the technical and administrative programs of WHO. The applicant can be from any specialty and healthcare background (eg: medicine, public health, environmental health, cardiology, oncology, genetics, infectious diseases, etc). The idea is to give them global perspective on their specialty through WHO programs. To be considered for internship, applications are accepted before September 30 each year. The application process is very simple and requires filling a questionnaire that covers their education, current studies, language skills and experience.
