Senior Manager - M-PESA Business Development

In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:
Reporting to the Head of MPESA Business Development, the role will
entail growth and retention of existing Customers by presentation of new
solutions and services and development of a new business pipeline to
Make Lipa Na M-PESA the biggest Player in Payments Market.
The position will require a thorough knowledge of the market, and solutions/services that Safaricom can provide.
Key Responsibilities:
Spearhead development and implementation of product
roadmap for Lipa Na M-PESA to address the requirements of all current
and new customers;
Champion evolution of Lipa Na M-PESA into a robust payments
service by developing and Implementing a roadmap for M-PESA payments
services which includes roll out of new payments technologies;
Develop and implement accompanying process such as Payments
settlements, KYC and go to market structure to support each of the new
payments;
Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business;
Grow and retain existing Customers by presenting new solutions and services to them;
Manage relationship with Partners and vendors to identify
opportunities to develop new solutions/Technologies and turn this into
increased business;
Champion Integration of Lipa Na M-PESA into customers’
existing solutions to improve customer experience and penetrate new
Markets;
Leveraging on usage and growth of M-PESA payments services,
identify opportunities for product diversification into new offerings
and convert these opportunities into new business aimed at increased
revenue /retention and usage growth;
Review of existing product gap to identify and solutions in
form of Enhancements and /or Process improvements to address the
identified gaps and increase usage;
Champion development of a Loyalty/Retention programme for
Lipa Na M-PESA customers that will stimulate Usage and retention of Lipa
Na M-PESA Customers;
Work with Customer Management and M-PESA operations team to identify Customer
Pain points and how to pro-actively address them;
Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and
develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators;
Consult with sales teams to developing products distribution channels;
Develop a Support structure for M-PESA Payments services including new Technologies;
Work with Customer Management team to develop a first line
support available 24 hours and well equipped to handle most of customer
and Merchants issues on a 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Work with Customer Management to develop a CM programme that
will incorporate call reduction initiatives as well as Proactive
identification of Emerging issues;
Develop a sales Support strategy that will ensure all sales
teams are well equipped with relevant product knowledge in order to
adequately serve the customers;
Work with PD team to improve customer and Merchant journey through interface and process enhancements;
Role Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field;
6-8 years post-graduation work experience of which 3 years must be in a management role;
Work experience in managing multiple business projects from
start to finish that are running simultaneously, and are of 6-12 month
duration.
These are projects which have an impact across the company;
have impact on customers and have impact on revenue generation
capability of the organization;
Good understanding of financial principles, financial ratios, can interpret standard financial statements;
Good understanding of the Kenyan market, subscriber preferences and subscriber trends;
