Save the Children Jobs in Kenya

Save the Children Jobs in Kenya

Save the Children Dimensions:
Save the Children has been operational in Kenya since the 1950s, providing support to children through developmental and humanitarian relief programmes delivered both directly and through local partners.
Current programming focuses on child protection, child rights governance, education, health, HIV/AIDS, livelihoods, nutrition and WASH.
In 2012, as part of a global reorganization process, Save the Children combined the programmes of SC UK, SC Canada and SC Finland to create a single operation in Kenya.
In February 2014, we completed a second transition, which saw us join forces with the British INGO, Merlin, and merge their health and nutrition programmes with our own.
Save the Children now has an operational presence in Bungoma, Dadaab Refugee Camp, Garissa, Mandera, Nairobi, Turkana and Wajir.
We work through partners in many other parts of the country.
We have a staff complement of around 300 staff and an operating annual budget of approximately US$25 million in 2014.

  • Health Benefits of Ginger Essential Oil

Essential oils are often called the "lifeblood" of the plant, and contain chemical constituents that have been known to have an immensely positive impact on the body's ability to heal itself. For example, the essential oil of ginger is 90% made up of something called "sesquiterpenes" #haiya#  which have been found to be antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and more. Using the essential oil of a plant creates a more potent affect of its properties.
According to studies, the properties within a quality brand of this oil include:
    • Antiseptic
    • Laxative
    • Stimulant
    • Tonic
    • Warming
This slightly sweet, slightly spicy oil is well-known to have an affect on the digestive system, as well as the nervous system. In fact one of the lesser know health benefits of ginger essential oil is the affect it has on our mental, emotional, and spiritual selves.
Ginger has been called the "oil of empowerment", addressing feelings of powerlessness, patterns of fears of victimization, and creating an inner fire and strength to step into a role of leader in one's own life.
Because of this nonphysical effect, it may be useful in addressing patterns of courage or fear, scarcity or abundance, and finding the healthy balance between the two sides of the spectrum.

    HEALTHY LIVING: Essential oils

Essential oils are nature's best kept secret!! The uses for essential oils (both for getting and staying healthy) are vast and diverse. As human residents of planet Earth, hardly a moment goes by when we are not reminded of our dependance on plants and their uses. We use a broad variety of plant life for oxygen, food, clothing, building, and to bring harmony and balance into our homes and outdoor surroundings. Plants have many beautiful qualities, but the plants themselves are not the only bounty. The essential oils that are extracted from plant leaves, flowers, stems, roots, or bark are incredible tools for us to use in our everyday lives, and when we are facing serious problems and looking for natural and healthy solutions in a more potent form.
Essential oils carry the essence of the plants in such a potent form that a single drop of essential oil can equal multiple teaspoons of the dried herb (for instance, 1 drop of peppermint oil equals more than 25 cups of peppermint tea!). And they can be used or applied in a multitude of ways and combinations to bring powerful results to your tasks, atmosphere, and bodies.
Many essential oils have antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and antibiotic properties. In addition to these impressive qualities, they often also transfer very pleasurable sensory experiences within minutes because of their fragrances and restorative natures, making them impactful on our brain chemistry, emotional well-being, and spiritual wellness.
The remarkable uses of essential oils can only be maximized when purity is involved. But government regulations vary from country to country and are subpar in assuring quality and purity. Knowing where your oils come from and how they are created is crucial to ensuring safety and effectiveness. Also important is knowing how to use each oil properly.
My favourite of all essential oils is Lavender essential oil

Pure lavender oil is an incredible essential oil to use for your own health and wellness. It's among the gentlest of essential oils, but also one of the most powerful, making it a favorite of households for the healing properties and uses of lavender essential oil.
According to diverse researches carried out, the properties within a quality brand of lavender oil include:
    • Analgesic
    • Anticoagulant
    • Anticonvulsant
    • Antidepressant
    • Antifungal
    • Antihistamine
    • Anti-infectious
    • Anti-inflammatory
    • Antimicrobial
    • Antimutagenic
    • Antiseptic
    • Antispasmodic
    • Antitoxic
    • Antitumor
    • Cardiotonic
    • Regenerative
    • Sedative
Truly pure oil will have a sweet floral smell first, with only a slight woody, herbaceous undertone. Other than the numerous physical effects it has it promotes well-being, peace, compassion, grounding and centering and spiritual consciousness.
Lavender is said to be the oil of honest communication and expression. It calms a racing mind, allowing a person to settle into their heart and speak with gentleness and kindness. It also eases anxiety or fear, including fears of rejection, and allows a person to feel present, calm, and engaged in healthy ways. It increases a sense of security and peace, and in this way helps to build trust in one's self and others.

And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened for us.

    Board of Wisdom

    "Eleven Hints for Life"

    1. It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return.
But what is more painful is to love someone and never
find the courage to let that person know how you feel.

    2. A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who
means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was
never meant to be and you just have to let go.

    3. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a
porch swing with, never say a word, and then walk away
feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

    4. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose
it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been
    missing until it arrives.

    5. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an
hour to like someone, and a day to love someone-but it
takes a lifetime to forget someone.

    6. Don't go for looks, they can deceive. Don't go for wealth,
even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you
smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day
    seem bright.

    7. Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go,
be what you want to be. Because you have only one life and
one chance to do all the things you want to do.

    8. Always put yourself in the other's shoes. If you feel that it
hurts you, it probably hurts the person too.

    9. A careless word may kindle strife. A cruel word may wreck
a life. A timely word may level stress. But a loving word may
    heal and bless.

    10. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best
of everything they just make the most of everything that comes
    along their way.

    11. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with
a tear. When you were born, you were crying and everyone
around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die,
you're the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.
