Job Description

1. Property Asset Manager
We are looking for a Property Asset Manager who shall be engaged in
leading and driving STANLIB’s property agenda and strategy across East
Africa.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and drive various forums and initiatives aimed at shaping STANLIB’s property investment strategy in East Africa.
Actively lead the engagement with and shape client interactions that are related to property investments in East Africa.
Evaluate the suitability of existing and proposed client property investments.
Generation and maintenance of property investment proposals and deal pipeline and presentation of the same to clients
Carry out property market research and analysis across the larger Eastern African region.
Create and maintain appropriate property performance evaluation metrics and reports
Lead and drive engagements with relevant regulators and
property market professionals for purposes of real estate product
design, product development and compliance.
Qualifications and Competencies:
The ideal candidate should possess the following academic and professional qualifications and experience:
An undergraduate degree in Building Economics, Land
Economics, Architecture, Property Management, Valuation or any other
property related discipline from a recognized university.
Post graduate qualifications in Finance, Economics, Business
Administration or any business related qualification will be an added
qualification
Professional certification and membership from a recognized professional body;
Over 5 years experience with a property related institution preferably in a project management role
A thorough understanding of the East African property market dynamics and trends
Ability to construct and utilize financial valuation models
A thorough understanding of property analytics and property performance evaluation metrics.
Excellent negotiation and communication (written and oral) skills;
Excellent IT skills including proficiency in MS Office
Excellent interpersonal skills;
Experience of leading and working effectively in teams.
Involvement in the management or development of pensions and insurance property assets will be an added advantage.
